Fredonia NRCD

Conserving 3,086,415 acres of Arizona

The Fredonia NRCD was organized on June 17, 1943. Its boundaries include the area south of the Utah/Arizona State line and east of the Hurricane Cliffs, South to the Colorado River, following the river back to the Arizona/Utah border. This area is within both Mohave and Coconino Counties.

Conservation education is a cornerstone of the District’s service. For over 40 years, Fredonia NRCD, along with Littlefield-Hurricane Valley NRCD, has facilitated an annual bi-state, multi-day conservation education workshop and tour event for range livestock producers in northern Arizona and southern Utah. At this annual workshop, producers hear from industry experts, learn about best management practices, tackle resource concerns, and take a tour of a working ranch in the area where they see firsthand conservation work in practice. Read more about this cooperative effort in our Summer 2021 edition of ConserveAZ magazine.
